Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using FocuTime ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. License

FocuTime grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App on your iOS devices in accordance with Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA).

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Merchantability
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy or reliability
• Error-free operation
• Uninterrupted service

4. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• The developer of FocuTime SHALL NOT BE LIABLE for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages
• This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of profits, data, goodwill, device damage, or other intangible losses
• You use the App AT YOUR OWN RISK
• The developer is NOT RESPONSIBLE for any loss of productivity, time, data, or any other consequences resulting from the use or inability to use the App

5. App Blocking Feature

• The app blocking feature uses Apple's Screen Time API and Family Controls framework
• YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for any apps you choose to block
• The developer is NOT LIABLE for any consequences of blocking apps, including but not limited to:
  • Missing important notifications
  • Inability to access emergency services through blocked apps
  • Loss of access to critical work or personal applications
  • Any other adverse effects from blocking applications

6. No Responsibility for Data Loss

While the App includes iCloud sync functionality, THE DEVELOPER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE for:

• Any data loss, corruption, or synchronization issues
• iCloud service availability or reliability
• Conflicts between devices
• Loss of statistics, settings, or timer state

7. Subscriptions and Payments

• Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store
• All billing disputes must be handled through Apple
• The developer is NOT RESPONSIBLE for Apple's billing, refund policies, or payment processing
• Subscription features may change or be discontinued at any time without notice

8. Notifications

• The App sends local notifications for timer completion and daily check-ins
• YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for managing notification permissions on your device
• The developer is NOT LIABLE for missed notifications or notification delivery issues

9. Modifications to Terms

The developer reserves the right to modify these terms at any time without notice. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of modified terms.

10. Termination

The developer reserves the right to terminate or restrict your access to the App at any time, for any reason, without notice.

11. No Warranties on Third-Party Services

The App integrates with Apple services (iCloud, Screen Time, Notifications). THE DEVELOPER MAKES NO WARRANTIES regarding the availability, reliability, or functionality of these third-party services.

12. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable local laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate jurisdiction.

Privacy Policy

FocuTime respects your privacy. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal data.

Data Collection

Data Storage

ALL DATA IS STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE OR IN YOUR PERSONAL iCloud ACCOUNT

Local Storage

• Timer settings (work duration, break durations)
• Statistics (sessions completed, streaks, focus time)
• App blocking preferences
• Notification settings
• All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults

iCloud Storage (Optional - Pro Feature)

• If you enable iCloud Sync, your data is synced to YOUR PERSONAL iCloud ACCOUNT
• This data is stored in YOUR iCloud container, not on our servers
• WE DO NOT HAVE ACCESS to your iCloud data
• WE CANNOT SEE what you sync
• Sync uses Apple's CloudKit framework

Data includes:

• Timer settings
• Statistics
• Notification preferences
• Timer state (if cross-device sync is enabled)

What is NOT Synced

Third-Party Services

The App uses only Apple's native frameworks:

We have NO access to any data processed by these Apple frameworks.

Data Security

• All data remains on your device or in your personal iCloud account
• We do not operate any servers or databases
• We cannot access, view, or recover your data
• Your data security depends on your device security and iCloud account security

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. All data storage is local or in the user's personal iCloud account.

Data Deletion

To delete your data:

1. Local Data: Delete the App from your device
2. iCloud Data: Use the "Delete iCloud Data" option in Settings → iCloud Sync, then delete the App

We cannot delete your data because we don't have access to it.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect any data:

• There is no data to request
• There is no data to export (beyond what's already on your device)
• There is no data to delete from our servers (because we have no servers)

International Users

All data processing happens on your device or in your iCloud account. Data does not leave your device except for optional iCloud sync, which uses Apple's infrastructure.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
